Newcastle Airport Information
Newcastle International Airport is the result of an agreement by the airport’s seven local authority shareholders to enter into a Public Private Partnership in 2001 with Copenhagen Airports. The local authority shareholders sold 49% of their equity interest in the Company to Copenhagen Airports and entered into a 15 year Technical Services Agreement with Copenhagen Airports.
Children's Facilities at Newcastle Airport
There is a play area in the terminal building with soft toys etc and a plasma screen showing cartoons. There are sweet and toy vending machines and also some rides. This area is not supervised by staff so children need to be accompanied at all times.
Game Grid offers slot machines etc for the older/teenage children. There are dance mats, slot machines, an air hockey table and a soccer machine.
There are four baby change stations at the airport – two landside and two being airside. They are clearly signed and located alongside the toilets. There is also a Boots in the departure lounge in case you run out of nappies.
Money Changing Facilities at Newcastle Airport

VIP/Business Lounges at Newcastle Airport
There are three business lounges at Newcastle Airport:
The Cheviot Lounge offers complimentary access with the following cards:
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue Platinum / Gold Cards

- SN Brussels Privilege Platinum and Gold Cards
It offers complimentary beers, wines and spirits from a self-service bar : beverages, soft drinks and snacks: newspapers and magazines and access to business facilities including complimentary WiFi
British Airways Lounge is downstairs in the departure lounge for all BA full-fare ticket holders, Executive Club passengers holding Premier, Gold or Silver cards, their franchise partner airlines and their One World Partner airlines.
The lounge has a business centre with internet access, phone and fax facilities. There is also a small library and a television. and a coffee bar facility offering light snacks, beers, spirits and wines.
FlyBe Lounge offers complimentary drinks and snacks, workstations with Wi-Fi access and a plasma TV.
Disabled Facilities at Newcastle Airport
In both the drop off and pick up points and in the short term car park there are assistance points by the disabled parking bays which are linked to the airport information desk where assistance can be requested.
A courtesy coach is provided to take all customers from the long term car park and the step from the bus lowers to the height of the pavement for wheelchair users. The coach drops off immediately outside of the terminal and bookings should be made on +44 (0) 191 214 4341 or online.
Wheelchair users who do not have helpers travelling with them will be assisted by the airside operations or customer service teams. They will help customers through security and on to the aircraft.
Wheelchairs and specialist vehicles for easy access to aircraft are available on request and are free of charge.
There are disabled toilets with alarm cords on all levels of the terminal building. There are also escalators and two lifts providing access to all areas of the terminal..
There are payphones throughout the airport that are at a lowered height.
Guide dogs are allowed in the terminal.
Internet Facilities at Newcastle Airport
WiFi is available throughout the terminal for wireless access to the internet. There are also a number of PC stations in the departure lounge.
All business/executive lounges also have internet facilities.
Medical Facilities at Newcastle Airport
There is no First Aid facility at Newcastle Airport, but if you need assistance contact the Information Desk in Main concourse between Check in desk 32 and WH Smith.

Prayer Room at Newcastle Airport
Newcastle Airport has a Chaplaincy Team and there is a prayer room on level 2 of the main terminal building which is open 24 hours a day providing a place for quiet contemplation and prayer.
Prayers for the whole airport community are held on Fridays at 12.35 in the prayer room.
