Departures at London City Airport
The departures area is on the first floor at London City Airport. Shops are situated both before and after security. Restaurants at London City are a bit thin on the ground but there is enough choice for you to have a hot, cold or alcoholic drink, snacks and sandwiches. There is also the Meridian Line fine dining restaurant on the first floor, which is open to non travellers.
There is not a large range of shops at London City but you can buy duty and tax free goods including wines, spirits, tobacco, perfumes and travel essentials. There is also a fashion section here that sells Ted Baker, Hugo Boss, Luggage and Swarowski jewellery.
A Bureau de change is available in the departures lounge. There is also a cash point in the Departures Lounge which is operated by Alliance and Leicester.
Check In at London City Airport
London City Airport offers some of the fastest check-in times of any UK airport with departure gates just minutes away from the Departure Lounge.
The check-in desks are located on right hand side of the ground floor of the terminal concourse.
You should aim to check-in with hand luggage at least 20 minutes before your flight is due to depart, or at least 30 minutes if you have hold luggage to check. BA passengers can check-in with hand luggage 15 minutes before the flight is due to depart.
Self-service check-in machines are available in the terminal for British Airways, Lufthansa, SAS and Air France passengers with hand baggage only.
Common User Self Service (CUSS) machines are available in the terminal concourse where passengers can check-in for flights with VLM, KLM and SWISS CUSS
