Weather at Glasgow International Airport

Glasgow weatherThe Scottish climate is cooler than that of England, but Glasgow enjoys a very stable climate with quite warm summers and mild winters. Because of its westerly position, Glasgow is one of Scotland's milder areas with temperatures usually higher than most places of equal latitude away from the UK due to the warming influence of the Gulf Stream Drift.

Glasgow and the west of Scotland tends to be cloudier than the rest of the country, but the city is warmer than most of Scotland because it is sheltered by hills to the north and south-west.

January and February are the coldest months, averaging 41°F to 45°F. The spring months (March to May) are generally mild and most of the city's trees and plants begin to flower at this time of the year. The summer months (May to September) can vary considerably between mild and wet weather or warm and sunny.
