Trains at Doncaster Airport
Although there is no train station at Doncaster Airport there are regular shuttle buses to Doncaster Railway Station which operate hourly.
The station is on the East Coast Main Line, and is about ten minutes walk from Doncaster town centre. The station is managed by GNER (Great North Eastern Railway). It is a major passenger interchange between the East coast Main Line, cross country and local services running in the North of England.
The station has 8 platforms: 1, 3, 4 and 8 take trains from either direction. Trains at platforms 2 and 5 run southbound and platforms 6 and 7 run northbound. A First Class Lounge for passengers with first open tickets is available on platform 3A.
The station has recently been refurbished and is now directly connected to the new Frenchgate Shopping Centre extension in Doncaster town centre. It has a new booking office for tickets and information, three lifts, refurbished staircases and subway.
Doncaster Airport Train Operators
More train operators call at Doncaster than at any other station in the UK. GNER offers regular direct trains services to London King's Cross, which can be reached in 85 - 100 minutes, depending on the service. They also offer services to the north, including Leeds, York Durham, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow
Midland Mainline offers a direct service to London St Pancras via Leicester, as well as routes to Kettering, Bedford and Luton.
Virgin Trains also offers similar services to the north but has a more widespread network to the south, calling at Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Bristol Paignton and Penzance.
Northern Rail offers services from Doncaster to Sheffield, Leeds and Lincoln providing stopper services (which stop at every station on the route) or fast services stopping at just the principal stations. .
