Birmingham Airport Car Parking

We have partnered with a company called Purple Parking who we believe are able to offer the best rates for car parking at Birmingham Airport. You can obtain a free online quote for your Birmingham Airport Parking here

There are 3 car parking areas on the airport complex: short stay, multi-storey and long stay (surface) car parks. The car parks are all operated by NCP. Both the airport terminals (1 and 2) are located next to each other, so that need not affect your choice of car park. Both terminals and car parks are easily reached from the M42 motorway.

The motorway and surrounding areas of the airport can become extremely busy, so if you are parking allow extra time for traffic jams and hold-ups.

Rapid Drop & Go Car Parking at Birmingham Airport

Birmingham airport car parkingThe rapid drop off facility is exactly as it sounds. If you are meeting someone or dropping someone off then this car park is ideal and is situated close to the terminal building. However, if you intend to be at the airport for over 2 hours then it would be more cost effective to use one of the other car parks.

Blue badge holders are entitled to up to 60 minutes free parking within the Drop & Go area upon production of their blue badge and car parking ticket at the NCP customer services desk within the terminal building. Normal charges apply if the 60 minutes is exceeded.

You can`t pre-book the short stay car park. You take a ticket on entrance, pay at one of the pay stations before returning to your vehicle.

Try to pre-book at least 4 days in advance as this will save you money and as spaces are limited it is better to reserve one in advance.

When you return to your car, if the battery is flat ask one of the NCP staff for assistance as they operate a free battery start service. As you may probably be leaving your car for a few days or even a few weeks, don´t forget to write down where you car is parked.

Because the long stay car park is further away from the terminal buildings, it is the cheapest. It is good value for money, although, as you would expect, the prices do go up in the summer. You could walk from the car park but it all depends on where you actually park.

There is a regular shuttle bus that runs around the car park about every ten minutes and its about a five minute journey to the terminal. Bus shelters are dotted around the car park.

If you have lots of luggage it may be an idea to drop someone and the luggage off at departures first and then park the car. Especially if you have children too.

The APH Car Park is just off the M42, Junction 9 and operate a courtesy coach every 10-15 minutes/24 hours a day to the airport. Staff will help you with your luggage and there is barrier control with full security.

Another company is Airparks. For directions exit the M42 at Junction 6 and following the signs for the A45 to Birmingham. Again they run a 24 hour transfer coach to the airport which takes about 15 minutes. The car park is secure and they also offer a valet service from nineteen to forty pounds. You can request this when you arrive at the car park.

Airparks are also offering a new service called Airparks Express. On your return to the airport your car will be brought to you saving you time having to return to the car park to collect your car. For your return journey simply wait at the bus stop where you were dropped off and wait for a bus to take you back to the car park.

Don´t forget to allow extra time to get to the car park, be checked in and then transferred to the airport. This can take up to 1 hour during busy periods. Contact

The third option for parking is to have VIP/Personal parking. CPS Personal Parking offer this service at Birmingham Airport. This means that a representative of the company will meet you at the airport and take the car from you, park it and then meet you with the car on your return.

The cars are parked at Airparks (above). Undercover parking is available as is a valet service on request.

If you decide to book one of the off-site car parks and you are disabled and will need assistance, remember to mention this when you book. Contact
