The Business Centre is between terminals 1 and 2 in the Queen's Building (before security) and is operated by Travelex.  The largest of the meeting rooms is the conference suite, which is theatre style and holds 60 people.

Showers are available after security in Terminal 4 – just look for this symbol on airport signs. Additional facilities may be available to eligible passengers in airlines' own lounges.

In terminal 3 there is a Jetterz Kid's Club which is in the departures lounge, after security.  It is suitable for children 5 to 14 years with a TV, DVD, books, computers game and toys.  The club is fully supervised and opening times are from 08.00 to 19.00

In terminal 4 the KLM Holideck lounge will keep the children occupied.  There is a small entrance fee. Opening times 06.30 to 22.00 Monday to Sunday Telephone 0044 (0)208 750 9870 or you can pre book on line at www.secure.baa.com

Disabled Facilities at London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport disability servicesThe airport has excellent facilities throughout for disabled travellers and those with special needs.

The short stay car parks are the most convenient to use if you are disabled/special needs traveller. If you require any assistance at all with your luggage or help to push your wheelchair then just use the green telephones which are next to the disabled parking bays.

If you require assistance at the bus station go to stand number 6 and use the telephone there.  It is sign posted HELP BUS. There is also a help point if you require help to reach terminals 1, 2 and 3.  This again is in the bus station on the way to the underground system.

Most local buses do have low level floors.  However, coaches, particularly long distance, tend not to have any facilities, so it is worth checking before you travel and booking assistance wherever you can beforehand.

Internet Facilities at London Heathrow Airport

Payment can be made online by credit card, by voucher, or by coin (UK pound or euro).

Servisair Executive Lounge - Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 offers

  • Complimentary alcoholic and soft drinks, tea, coffee and snacks.
  • Internet access, computer points, phone and fax.
  • Television and a selection of newspapers and magazines.
  • Comfortable chairs in quiet surroundings.

A charge is made for champagne, internet access, phones and fax.

KLM Holideck - Terminal 4 has a a dedicated business zone and three floors of entertainment for all the family. Facilities include:

Main deck: Family lounge with complimentary refreshments, newspapers, magazines and interactive toys for pre-school children. An interactive zone with the latest PS2 and PSP games.

Enterprise deck (16+ years): Business area with wireless internet access, fax and phone connections. Haven 2 is a relaxing area to read or enjoy some peace and quiet. Bar Vela: wher you can have a drink while you watch Sky Sports or business news.

Upper deck(16+ years): Sports lounge with bar and widescreen televisions.The Haven for quiet rest and relaxation. Complimentary papers and magazines.

Flight deck- High above the roof of Terminal 4 is a glazed observatory providing panoramic views of the runways and airfield.

Medical Facilities at London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport medical centres and first aidIf you require emergency medical treatment, use any internal telephone to dial 222. The operator can make sure an ambulance is quickly sent to the right part of the airport. If you need help finding a telephone, please ask a member of airport staff.

Basic treatment is provided at the Heathrow Health Centre located in D'Albiac House. Staffed by qualified nurses. Opening hours are 08:00 - 17:00. For further information call +44 (0)20 8745 7047.

Boots the Chemist has branches in all terminals at Heathrow, before and after security, where over-the-counter medicines and treatments can be bought. The branches before security in Terminal 1 and Terminal 5 also dispense prescriptions – please call in advance on +44 (0)20 8897 2629 to check your medication is available.

Pet Travel at London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport flying petsGuide dogs and hearing assistance dogs are the only pets allowed into the airport.  Obviously, first of all check that the airline you are going to book with offers the service of transferring pets.

If you wish to fly your pet in or out of the UK, then you will need to check that your pet has the correct vaccinations and passport. If your pet qualifies then it will remove the need for them to spend six months in quarantine.

Chapel at London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport chapelSt George's Chapel at Heathrow Airport is located on Inner Ring West, Heathrow Airport, Hounslow TW6 1BP (between Terminals 1 and 3 and close to the central bus station). The chapel is below ground level and reached via stairs.

Multi-faith prayer room: Located above the main chapel, at street level, and usually open from 07:30 to 20:00. Christian Fellowship prayer service on Thursdays at 12:30. Muslim prayers on Fridays at 13:00. Anglican and Free Church Services by arrangement.

Catholic Services:

  • Mass daily at 12:30 Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion, Fridays at 12.30 and Tuesdays at 19:00 (followed by Holy Hour with Prayer for Healing).
  • Mass at 07:30, 12:30 and 18:00 on holy days.

Heathrow Airport has Christian Chaplains from Anglican, Catholic, and Free Church denominations, and faith representatives from the Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and Sikh faiths.
